Ares can halt time around others in a limited capacity. His divine powers include superhuman strength, durability, and stamina, as well as flight, teleportation of himself and those of his choosing. His godly origin as a son of the thunder god Zeus puts Ares in a higher class than most of his pantheon. He then leaves Wonder Woman to battle her counterpart and to stop Superman's plan.Īres is an Olympian God, putting him well above the average superhuman within the Injustice series. Wonder Woman asks why Ares would oppose Superman's desire to create war and conflict, but Ares says that it will only sustain him for a short time, and the result would likely end conflict permanently, starving Ares. Later, Ares teleports Wonder Woman to him on Themyscira to inform her of how Superman plans to use the Amazons to lay waste to Gotham and Metropolis. Ares then informs Aquaman of the insurgency and teleports him to their base. After defeating him in battle, Aquaman observes that Ares is weaker than usual, which Ares explains is due to Superman's One-Earth government creating a lack of conflict for Ares to feed on. Ares appears before Aquaman, who promptly attacks him. The Greek god of war, Ares thrives on conflict. Ares would eventually find a way to access the human world, and become one of Wonder Woman’s most formidable adversaries. The gods then took steps to ensure that Ares could not escape, even going as far as to wipe the memories of any gods leaving Themyscira, to prevent Phobos and Deimos from rescuing their father. The Gods banished him to Themyscira, where the Amazons fought to ensure that Ares could not inflict any more damage than he already had. As Aphrodite was the one restraining him, Ares willingly allowed himself to be imprisoned. Hephaestus, God of Craftsmanship, had Ares shackled with restraints specially designed to inhibit his rage and power. The rest of the gods of Olympus all elected to have Ares imprisoned to prevent further bloodshed. As time passed, Ares went mad with power, due to his role as the god of war. He was also the patriarch of the Amazons.

He was born to Zeus, God of Thunder, and Hera, Goddess of Marriage, both of whom were patriarch and matriarch of the Greek Pantheon, a group of Greek gods who resided on Mount Olympus in Skyland. Ares, God of War, was born eons ago in the transdimensional plane known as Skyland, a land situated in the Sphere of the Gods.
